Carey is a former fashion model. She is 5'10" tall and was very popular among top American designers, such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and others. Her father was a distinguished geologist, who was in 1979 named Scientist of the year by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. In the course of his career Carey grew up all around the globe. In the years of her college when she was modeling part-time and attracted the attention of Ford model Agency representatives in New York. The model moved to France in the year 1980, and lived for a short time in Paris as well as Bordeaux before deciding to return to New York to continue with her college education and modeling career. She soon began appearing on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, etc. When she was modeling, she continued to study in full-time a major in literature at New York University. Gradually she became interested in acting and attended the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Her acting debut came with a small character in 'Club Pardise' in 1986 with Robin Williams. In her spare time, she enjoys ski, white-water rafting wind-surfing and climbing rocks.
