AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league title. Morgan, then 22 years older, was the youngest national player at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final game against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and score 20 assists within the same year, making her the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
